I was born and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. and graduated from Grand Valley State College. I have now lived in Cape Coral for over 22 years and have watched Cape Coral grow from mostly empty land to the vibrant waterfront community that it is today.

Colleen Groves
I was born into a large family, six brothers and six sisters. My life began in Historic Hyde Park, Beautiful Hudson Valley, in Dutchess County, New York.
Immediately, all of us were groomed for business. Our Father was a builder and our Mother a Real Estate Broker. My parents had their own business and insisted their children all procured a REAL ESTATE LICENSE. We were very aware of all phases of construction, and were taught sales when we were practically cutting our teeth. Working at an early age we were exposed to many facets. As soon as possible learning financing and prompted to own real estate, not rent!
I attended a local college with an interest in my education. Meanwhile, I actively sold and listed real estate. I attended many seminars for extra certification in this field and belonged to MLS. I realized the importance of owning your own home. I knew if I invested in a two family, my beginning homeowner years would be supplemented with rental income. This was a great opportunity for me. I was saturated in real estate during my 30 years and learned to love helping people with their dreams.
I am married and have a wonderful husband and a handsome son. Elements occurred for us to have the opportunity of moving to Florida. We became homeowners in Beautiful Southwest Cape Coral. I wanted to continue my career in real estate and selected Century 21 as my affiliate. Nothing can complete the American Dream like owning your own home. Mary Tarrence
I was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. I married my husband, Owen and moved to Wyandotte, Michigan, his hometown. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. I worked over 20 years for the second largest natural gas utility in Michigan, Michigan Consolidated Gas Co., as a Purchasing buyer for various materials and services.
My husband and I have been coming to Florida every year for the past 15 years for vacation. We belonged to a boat community in Michigan for 15 years and liked Cape Coral for all its 400 miles of canals. My husband, Owen retired and we decided it was time to move to a warmer climate and leave the snow and ice behind. We had a house built on a canal in Cape Coral. My hobbies include cross-stitch, needlepoint, gardening and fishing with my husband. I have been in a business environment for over 20 years helping people purchase materials and services they need. I am a "former" Native Californian who graduated from San Diego State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I also hold a California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. I relocated to Cape Coral in beautiful, sunny SW Florida with my family in 2005. Once settled, I decided to pursue my lifelong interest in the exciting world of real estate. Born and raised in Northfield, Minnesota, home of St. Olaf and Carleton colleges and famous for the demise of the Jesse James gang. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Following graduation, I entered the United States Air Force and completed 28 years of dedicated service as a dentist achieving the rank of Colonel. I have been married for 48 years to Elizabeth and have four children ( 1 deceased ) and five grandchildren.
Following our Air Force career, we began our search for sun, warmth, and waterways with access to beaches and world class fishing. Closing or Settlement >Closing Paperwork
When you buy a house you are asked to sign an amazing number of documents, especially if you are obtaining a mortgage loan. It is prudent to read all of the papers before signing them, but it may not be practical to do this at the actual closing. There is a way you can read everything first without holding up the closing.
The title company should have the papers ready for your review several days before the closing, but sometimes the lender delivers the paperwork at the last minute. If you insist on reading the fine print on every page, you will probably draw some serious groans from the others at the table. One practical solution is to request copies of all of the standard forms a week before the closing, so that you can read them at your leisure. At the closing you need only to make sure that the information is filled in correctly.
